Communications 2001

Initial Handouts

You can view each of the handouts as either an HTML file or an Adobe Acrobat PDF.   PDF viewing requires the free Adobe Acrobat Reader browser plug-in, but provides a higher resolution image.  It produces a better printout, almost exactly like those I distribute in class.  If you do not have the plug-in installed, you will get a message prompting you to save the file whenever you click on a PDF link.  To download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installation program, click the icon below.

Handout #4 - Sample Assignment and Sample Spelling Sheet

I ask students to track two types of spelling errors.  Normal errors where the result is not a word, and "Wrong Word" errors where the result is a correctly spelled word that is incorrectly used.  I circle both types of errors when I spot them.  I write an "SP" next to normal error circles, and "SP-WW" next to wrong word errors.  I ask students to place a check mark in the WW column for wrong word errors.  Hopefully this will clarify any questions about spelling that might occur to you as you view the samples linked below.
